It's kind of ironic
that after a single earthquake,

all the homes

the invaluable objects of our affection,
left in a silent, comfortable
pile of trash.

Dirt, dust, and decay
filled the air,
as the people stood up
out of their broken evolutionary walls,
staring at the new monument.

The single builiding stood in profound glory.
In favor of continuing sufferage.

They stared at it,
their new symbol of pride.

The building
a mint for money,
producing the property
to power and wealth,

only feeding desire
and discrimination.

HelicaseHelio and I were always sitting on the stairs, chatting about the lamina and occasionally making snide remarks about ribosomes. There wasn't much for us to do. Our job was to simply be, and let the RNA scribble down the letters on our foreheads when they came around every once in a while. Helio was a G, I was a C. It wasn't exactly fulfilling, I suppose. There wasn't much to be filled. So to pass the time, we talked.
"You ever wonder?" Helio asked.
